C8 was founded in 2001 by its president and chief creative "guru," Steven Powell. Through sound planning, creative messaging and dynamic, attention-getting literature, c8 has helped scores of local and regional businesses dramatically enhance their sales efforts and market themselves effectively.

Our philosophy includes following the advice of 1930's motivational speaker, Elmer Wheeler. We focus on finding the "special sizzle" that permeates any successful business endeavor, then leveraging that into a unique statement populating every marketing, advertising and sales vehicle.

During over 25 years as a graphics and creative professional, Steve has created award-winning sales and promotion campaigns for General Mills, Dunkin’ Donuts and Kraft Foods, helped a hands-on science museum raise funds for renovation and expansion, overseen marketing design for national newsstand magazines and assisted a local phone company in its battle against the corporate giants.

As a former Creative Director for a NYC agency and Vice President of Creative Services for an on-line promotions portal, Steve made a name for himself as an internet pioneer and innovator with interactive promotions and web sites for national brands like AutoBytel, Playgirl Magazine, and Wrigley’s Gum, garnering several industry awards along the way.

The Birth of the C8 Group: In a life-changing move, Steve left NYC behind, launching Co-oper8 Marketing Group in 2001. His goal – to create the kind of firm he’d always envisioned, servicing businesses of all sizes with equal care and professionalism. An innovative and creative group with no politics, no inflated billing procedures, and a strong network of senior marketing professionals who could ‘walk-the-walk’ and ‘talk-the-talk.’

Through creative, attention-getting literature and crisp, focused messaging, Steve and the c8 group have helped scores of local, regional and national businesses dramatically enhance their sales efforts and market themselves effectively.

“Doing the due diligence to understand key features and benefits, is only half the process,” says Steve. “Good marketing is all about developing the right key messages, then serving them up with just the right amount of sizzle in just the right way."

Radio Show and Seminar Series: In 2003, Steve launched Marketing By Design, a weekly radio talk show focusing on marketing and advertising issues for small businesses. Rockland Business Digest: In 2006, Steve and partner, Ken Mahoney, orchestrated the launch of Rockland Business Digest, a business-to-business news magazine targeted exclusively to the county's 11,000+ businesses and government agencies. In addition to his regular articles and marketing column, Steve continues to art direct the magazine, personally designing each page and graphic.
